You will meet many Chapmans and the programs will be very educational and informative. I hope to meet many more Chapmans. Last May 18 - 20, 2001, I was fortunate to attend the First Annual Convention and Meeting of CHAPMAN FAMILY ASSOCIATION, in St. Louis, Mo. It was very exciting to meet so many Chapmans. I was also very pleased to meet Dennis Chapman from Kentucky. He is a member of my Chapman line. Dennis and I have talked on the phone and by email in the past and it was a pleasure to finally meet him. Thanks to Dennis I have a copy of my g-grandfathers Naamon Chapman's death certificate. See you in Salt Lake City! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* A convention message from Paul Rekow, CFA Convention Committee- Dear CFA Members and anyone interested in Chapman's, The Second Annual Convention and Meeting of THE CHAPMAN FAMILY ASSOCIATION. It will be held May 17th, 18th and 19th, 2002 in Salt Lake City, UT. The site chosen for the meeting is the Quality Inn City Center hotel. Members must make their own reservations. The toll-free line directly to the Quality Inn in Salt Lake City is 1-800-521-9997 or the Nationwide Quality Inn reservations # is 1-800-228-5151. Be sure to specify that you are with the Chapman Family Assn. when you register, that way you will get our group rate of $75.00. We have 50 rooms reserved at the Quality Inn, but please make your reservations early so that if we need more rooms that can be arranged. The Meeting Committee is getting together a very exciting program. The following is a proposed schedule that is subject to change. This schedule is somewhat different than our schedule for the first meeting in St. Louis, but we feel that we need to take advantage of all the research opportunities available in SLC. Proposed CFA Conference Schedule Friday, May 17, 2002 8am Registration 8:30am-10:30am Free Breakfast and Business Meeting - (at Quality Inn) 11:-12:30 Introduction and Tour of FH Library (meet at Museum Auditorium Next door) -Group Orientation and Room Reserved . Note: the FH Library is about 8 blocks north of the Quality Inn. Free public transportation is available between the two locations. Lunch on your own and FHL time 2:-3 pm Class (held at Museum Auditorium) -Room Reserved 3:30-4:30 pm Class (held at Museum Auditorium) - Room Reserved (There will be a reception at the Quality Inn on Friday evening which will feature finger foods and punch.)
