The Officers are: President - Robert B. "Bob" Chapman FL-VT Vice President - Toni Martinazzi FL Secretary - Jackie Konecny TX Treasurer - M.D. Chapman Morgan CA Corresponding Secretary - Gilbert K. Alford, Jr. MO Executive Director - Robert Sonfield, TX The Directors and year for reelection are: Robert B. Chapman 2002 VT-FL Ernie Chapman 2002 NC Don Chapman 2002 MN Elizabeth Codding 2003 OK Toni Martinazzi 2003 FL Joanne Sedriks 2003 NE Jackie Konecny 2004 TX Bob Sonfield 2004 TX MD Chapman Morgan 2004 CA In this election alone, nominees are selected for one, two and three year terms at random. Directors can run to replace themselves at the end of their terms. After this election, three directors will be elected to three year terms each year. This will provide overlap and preclude the need of replacing all directors in a single election. In the event of a resignation or other event that precludes a director from fulfilling his/her term, the remaining directors may elect a replacement to fill out the term of the missing director. The directors at the first meeting following their election will elect officer as President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Other association officers will be appointed by the board and serve at the board's discretion. The following committees were established: Planning Committee: Bob Chapman Finance Committee: Mike Morgan, Judge Noble Littell. Meeting Committee: Toni Martinazzi, Margaret Preston Chapman, John S. Chapman, John B. Chapman, Phil Ellsworth, Paul Rekow. Publicity Committee: Shelly Chapman, Jean Snow, Kathy Tovar. Membership Committee: Jackie Konecny, Faye Chapman, John D. Chapman, Jody Dean. The Convention for 2002 will be in Salt Lake City, UT. The tentative date: May 17- 19, 2002. The Convention for 2003 will be in Richmond, VA. The tentative date will be the third week of May. The following states were represented at the Business Meeting: Illinois 6- Missouri 6 - Florida 5 - Iowa 5 - California 5 - Texas 4 Minnesota 4 - Nebraska 3 - Oklahoma 2 - Oregon 2 - North Carolina 2 Vermont 1 - Idaho 1 - North Dakota 1 - Washington 1 - Kentucky 1 Utah 1 For a total of 50 members present for the meeting. A total of 79 were in attendance. Prizes were given for the following: Traveled the farthest distance: James L. The raffle prize - A beautiful CHAPMAN cross stitch, made and donated by Sally STEOWER, was won by Jackie Konecny. All of the speakers and programs were outstanding. The Convention was a great success. Next year we hope that more of the members will be able to attend, We have a year to plan this next Convention in Salt Lake City and it should be even better than the St. Louis 2001 Convention.
