Arranged by county, census page and house.
For most subjects the age is expressed in years immediately after the relationship entry. In some cases- if the subject was born within the year the month is given- otherwise the column after age is blank.
CYOB or circa year of birth is not from the census. It was calculated by the computer by subtracting age from 1880.
Marriage status is give as M= married, S= single, W= widowed, D= divorce.
Birthplace is abbreviated using the standard postal service state abbreviations. Others are: EN= England, NW=Norway, SL= Scotland, and SW= Sweden.

her parents. Fanny was born in New York, her father in New York
and mother in England. The two just don't fit as sisters.

The LDS-IGI show that William Chapman and Rachel Watson were
married Apr 24, 1879. Is there an error in the date- 1879
instead of 1859 - or is this a different William & Rachel?
The same source shows that William Chapman and Rachel Watson had
John T. Chapman Mar. 31, 1861 in SLC.

that William Henry Chapman married Emma Ellen Ward Aug. 23, 1875
in SLC.

CFA Notes: The LDS-IGI shows that Isaac M. Chapman married Sarah A. Ashworth
October 1856 in Millcreek, Salt Lake Co., UT. From the same
source we learn that Benjamin Stephen Chapman was born to Isaac
Moroni Chapman and Sarah Ashworth there May 13, 1862. The had
Eliza Ann Feb. 22, 1866. Sarah and Isaac Moroni Chapman had
Vilate Chapman Oct. 2, 1880 in Millcreek. According to the IGI
Arthur Chapman was born to Sarah Ann Ashworth and Isaac Chapman
May 14, 1887, East Millcreek, Salt Lake County- not in this
census.

They were married during the census year.
CFA Notes: There is a subtle code in the original census schedules, not
included in the LDS church extraction on CD of the census, that
is important in the case of this family. The CDs do not include
the house or dwelling number and the family number. A close
examination of this family showed that Jessie and Elizabeth were
in fact living with Judge McLaren. Birth place information makes
a very strong circumstantial case for Elizabeth being the
daughter of Judge McLaren and his wife Caroline. Note that
Elizabeth Chapman's father was born in Kentucky and her mother in
Norway. Note that the Judge was born in Kentucky and his wife
Caroline in Norway.
