1800 Census RIWhen the enumerators took the 1800 and 1810 census they recorded a count of the persons in each house tabulating them by age range and sex. In our CFA display the tabulation appears with two sets of five numbers and one set of two numbers. The first set represent the free white males, the second set free white females, and the set of two is for other free persons and slaves.
The first number in the male and female group is for children under 10 years of age (0-9). The second number in each group is for those persons age 10-15 years of age. The third number in each group is for subjects age 16-25 years of age. The fourth number in each group is for subjects age 26-44 years of age. The fifth or last number in each group is for those age 45 or over.
The first of the two number set is for all other free persons and the second number is for slaves. When data is recorded for these two and there is more than 9 (single digits) the information is separated by a comma.
