The following Bible entiries are a transcript of the John Henry Chapman bible of Glide, Oregon....the material in brackets has been added by the transcriber, Robert L. Casebeer, great great grandson of John Henry Chapman.[1854]
John Henry Chapman, my great grandfather, bought a bible for his family apparently just before he emigrated to Oregon in 1854.
The title page reads as follows:
The Holy Bible containing the Old and New Testaments translated out of the Original Tongues and with the former translations diligently compared and revised. New York: American Bible Society, instituted in the year Mdccxvi, (Small Pica Ref) 1854 (Royal Octavo)
