Tolland County, Connecticut History
The Early History of Tolland
This "history" began as an address in 1861 to the Tolland County Historical Society and grew to a 148 page publication. Leonard B. Chapman, a member of the Chapman Family Association discovered a booklet containing this history. The original 148 pages had been reduced to 37 by reducing the size of the original work by one-quarter and placing four pages on one. The Chapman association reworked each page by OCR scanning or keying the data to reconstruct the work as near like the original as possible.
The association began publishing the history in segments in the Chapman Family Association Quarterly in the fall of 2004. As of this writing eight segments have been published and four small ones remain. These four will be added here after publication in the quarterly.
Rather than including the whole work in one file which may have been too large for some to handle it is included here in the segments as published. Select the segment desired by clicking the title in the table below.
