West York School District retiree

YORK- Roger L. Chapman, 69, of York, died at 5:15 p.m. Sunday at his home. He was the husband of Arlene (Warner) Chapman.

The service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Robert M. Goodling Funeral Home, 62 Main St., Seven Valleys. Burial will be in St. Paul's (Zeigler's) Cemetery. Viewing will be 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Chapman was born Oct. 28, 1927, in Newberry Township. He was the son of the late Francis M. and Ada C. (Householder) Chapman. .

He worked in the custodial department of West York School District, retiring in 1987. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5865 in York.

Mr. Chapman also is survived by a brother, Garland E. Chapman of Tioga; two sisters, Gloria O. Bushey of Bountiful, Utah, and Joan D. Hamme of Dover; and nieces and nephews.

Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Yvonne Wesley Rohrbaugh, pastor of St. Paul's (Zeigler's) Lutheran Church.
