Edwin S. Chapman
At 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Wesleyan Methodist church in Brookdale, funeral services for Edwin S. Chapman, 78, were conducted by Rev. Dennis Osgood of Willow, a former pastor of the Wesleyan church. Burial took place in the Brookdale cemetery where Rev. Mr. Osgood conducted the committal service.
Mr. Chapman died at 10 o'clock Monday morning, October 20, following an illness of several months.
He was born at the Chapman family homestead in Brookdale on January 25, 1869, a son of Stillman and Catherine Fletcher Chapman. In October of 1923, his wife, the former Lois Tracy of Brookdale passed away.
Mr. Chapman who has been a farmer all of his life, was a member of the Brookdale Wesleyan Methodist church.
Surviving are his nine children, Mrs. Doris McClure of Brant Lake, Robert Chapman at home, Mrs. Margery Streeter at home, Floyd Chapman at home, Edwin T. Chapman of Brookdale, Rev. Howard Chapman of Corinth, Clarence Chapman of Bronxville, Rev. Clifton Chapman of Fort Miller, and Mrs. Ruth Riggs of North Stockholm. There are 26 grandchildren and three great grandchildren that survive.
