ASHER J. CHAPMAN DIES IN PORTLAND
Asher J. Chapman, 50, died in Portland Oct. 10. Services were held Oct. 12 at the Miller and Tracy Funeral home, Portland.
Mr. Chapman was born at Spencer, Iowa. He was employed in the O.A, mill except during the depression, when he worked in mills along the lower Columbia.
Several months ago he was taken seriously ill and received hospitalization in Portland.
He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, Adelia; son Melvin of Portland; three daughters, Verda and Hazel Cook of Vernonia and Mildred Urie of Jewell; his mother, Mrs. J.C. Chapman of Mirror Landing, Alta. Can., one brother and five sisters.
