Biography
NATHAN CHAPMAN

NATHAN4 CHAPMAN (NATHANIEL3, NATHANIEL2, EDWARD1) was born October 13, 1707 in Ipswich, Massachusetts. He married PRISCILLA ADAMS December 26, 1734 in Wenham, Massachusetts, daughter of JOHN ADAMS and HANNAH TREADWELL. She was born November 17, 1712 in Ipswich, Massachusetts.

Nathan Chapman and his son Reuben fought in the French and Indian War. They were members of Captain Anthony Stickney's Company from February 27, 1760 to January 5, 1761. Captain Stickney's Company was part of a force which was involved in the English Campaign for the year 1760 which included the advance of the main force under General Amherst by way of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River against Montreal, of a second force by the way of the Richelieu River, and of the Garrison at Louisbourg and all the troops that could be spared from Quebec.
